Ellesmere Port Youth 19 Vs Saddleworth NC 21

A great game between these two sides which ended in a nail biting finale. Saddleworth NC who are chasing Chester NC at the top of the table were shocked at how competitive Ellesmere Port were, due to their position in the table. The first quarter and the second quarter saw both teams match each other practically goal for goal and the game was level at 11-11 at half time. In the 3rd quarter Saddleworth found some breathing space and carried on building their lead into the 4th quarter and found themselves five points ahead with five minutes to go. With so much at stake Saddleworth somehow let go of their lead and Ellesmere Port brought the game back level with minutes to spare, with both teams making mistakes in a chaotic finale to the game. In the end though Saddleworth scored the crucial points to seal the win and condemn a brave Ellesmere Port to another defeat.

Chester NC B 16 Vs Macclesfield NC 16

A strange game saw these top rivals labour to a draw. The game started with both sides struggling to find any fluency in their play with basic errors being the main focus in a mistake ridden opening quarter. In the second quarter Macclesfield finally found some consistency and went two points ahead going into the 3rd quarter, which was played out exactly like the previous quarter with Macclesfield going into the final quarte still two points ahead. The final quarter finally saw Chester fight back and they dug deep to force the game into a draw with only seconds to go. With the game on a knife edge and the ball with Macclesfield their shooter didn't realise how long was left and opted to pass instead of shoot which meant both teams had to settle for a point each.

Grangetown NC U11 16 Vs Wyre NC 55

A brave performance from Grangetown NC U11 who came up against an in form Wyre NC side who are going from strength to strength in this league. Wyre NC came out the winners and will now face tougher tests ahead and will be hoping to push for the Northern title.

Wyre NC 19 Vs Saddleworth NC 41

Wyre NC who had been on a great run of form were stopped in their tracks by Saddleworth who will be hoping to now push for the top four places in the league. Saddleworth started like a house on fire and were 9-1 ahead before Wyre NC could get a going. With the score being 12-5 in the opening quarter, Wyre had to somehow think of a way to get back into the game and managed to bring back the score to 14-10 before Saddleworth pushed on again to make the score 18-11 at half time. From this point it was one way traffic and the frustration from the Wyre players was there for everyone to see as they struggled to cope with the Saddleworth movement.

Chester NC U13 A 53 Vs Kingston NC 16

A convincing win for Chester who are now setting themselves up for a dramatic encounter with local rivals Ellesmere Port to see who wins the league title. Kingston NC started well in this tie but just couldn't execute their early chances against a very well drilled Chester side.
