Wyre NC 56 Vs Grangetown NC U11

A ruthless display by Wyre NC saw them send a message to their league rivals. They started the game fast and welcomed back star shooter Molly Huck who was making up for lost time with pin point accurate shooting throughout the opening quarter. Each quarter was just as strong the last one and Grangetown NC had no answer for this brutal onslaught, but valiantly kept pushing forward as a team. In the end a win that signals Wyre's intentions in this league.

Grangetown NC U11 24 Vs M&A NC 22

The battle of the bottom took place and it was a highly entertaining game to watch with both sides matching each other all the way to the final seconds of this tie. M&A started the brightest and took a 7-4 lead going into the second quarter. In the second quarter Grangetown started becoming more successful due to Ava Holmes beginning to see more of the ball and showcasing her incredible shooting skills. Only being one point down at half time Grangetown were now starting to look the more confident, but were being held off by a very determined M&A NC who weren't going to give up their lead lightly. In the final quarter both teams went toe to toe to try and find their first win of the season and in the end it was Grangetown NC who recorded their first win of the season.

Chester NC B 19 Vs Saddleworth NC 21

A huge game for both teams who both have aspirations to not only qualify for the Grand Finals, but potentially become the first ever champions of this league. Saddleworth who were without some key players due to them being on holiday started really well regardless and took a slender lead into the second quarter. In the second quarter Chester turned the tables on Saddleworth and overturned their slender lead to take their own 12-11 slender lead going into half time. The 3rd quarter saw Chester continue to pile the pressure on Saddleworth who were now struggling to break down a resilient Chester side and a big final quarter was needed if Saddleworth were going to win and claim top spot in the table. The final quarter saw a incredible comeback by Saddleworth who forced many turnovers by the Chester side and their shooters held their nerve to claw back the deficit and record a fantastic win.

Ellesmere Port Youth 19 Vs Macclesfield NC 27

A superb game between two teams who left everything on the court. Macclesfield started the game well and their shooter Emma Farmer was in good form never putting a foot wrong and helping them record a 8-3 score line going into Q2. Macclesfield stayed on top in Q2, but were not as consistent under the nets due to the Ellesmere Port GK starting to make life uncomfortable for their shooters. In the 3rd quarter Ellesmere Port showed signs they could come back into the game, but just couldn't capitalise on the amount of forced errors they were forcing. They did record their best quarter in the final quarter and made the scoreline reflect their impressive performance, but unfortunately started too slow which allowed Macclesfield to record a well earned win.

Chester NC B 36 Vs DNA NC 6

Chester NC B picked up their first win of the season with solid performance against DNA NC Gold. The game started competitively, but DNA had one less player which meant they faded with each quarter that passed. Chester NC B stuck to their task through-out and will be hoping to push Kingston NC in their next game and build upon their first win.

Ellesmere Port Youth 54 Vs Kingston NC 10

Ellesmere Port Youth qualified for the ENG YNPL Grand Finals after a stunning win over Kingston NC. The score was a bit harsh on Kingston NC who generally did put a good fight up, but with no subs and playing one of the most energetic teams in the country, they couldn't keep up with the league leaders. Kingston NC now will play Chester NC B in a must win game that will define their season.

Chester NC A 34 Vs Grangetown NC 28

A superb game that had everyone on the edge of their seats through-out. A very evenly matched start saw the opening quarter tied. Grangetown NC then notched their performance up a gear and had Chester NC against the ropes going in at half time 17-13 ahead. Chester NC who are chasing Ellesmere Port Youth at the top of the table made some changes at half time which got them back into the tie and the comeback was on after they reduced the deficit to only two points going into the 3rd quarter. With both teams now locked into a who 'wants it more' type of scenario we were set for great finale. With so much at stake, Chester NC came out of the blocks in the 4th quarter like a team processed and they recorded their best quarter to overturn the score in their favour and win the tie, which keeps up the pressure on Ellesmere Port at the top of the table.
