The ENG YNPL is reaching it's conclusion and this round of fixtures saw the top teams continue to solidify their positions at the top of their leagues. TTNC U12, AP Saints NC & Eagles NC U12 all won and set up a great finale going into the final two fixtures of the season. In the U13 league, Poole NC and Turnford recorded comfortable wins, but CD Phoenix NC had to work hard for theirs after a brutal encounter with Eagles where they just won by a single point.

U12 Review

Ryland NC 21 Vs TTNC 34

Ryland NC took on top of the table TTNC in this exciting encounter which would see TTNC qualify for the Grand Finals. Both teams started nervously with Ryland NC shooters missing numerous shots early on and TTNC needlessly throwing the ball away. With the score being 6-4 to TTNC after the first quarter, TTNC managed to gain control of the tie in the second quarter and went in at half time 15-9 ahead. Without their captain Ruby, who has broken her wrist, Ryland struggled to link up the play from attack to defence and this allowed TTNC to further their lead in each quarter. In the end a great win for TTNC who qualified for the Grand Finals, but Ryland will have to defeat Matrix NC next week to confirm their place in the nationals.

AP Saints NC 30 Vs Abbey Flyers Nomads 13

AP Saints NC continued their good form since their defeat Ryland and recorded a well fought win over a determined and much improved Abbey Flyers Nomads side. AP Saints started the stronger of the two teams and took a 9-3 lead going into Q2. Abbey Flyers in Q2 played some of their best netball of the season and managed to bring themselves back into the game. AP Saints responded to the Abbey Flyers performance in the second quarter and punched throught gears in Q3 and Q4 to record the win that keeps their title hopes alive.

Eagles NC 46 Vs Weston Park Blades 4

Weston Park Blades were returning after a long lay off and they faced a in form Eagles NC side who are pushing for the title. The game which was played in very hot conditions was dominated by Eagles through-out and they maintained their position as runners up in the table going into a huge game against AP Saints NC next.

Magic NC 20 Vs Poole NC 16

A end to end game between two sides who still had hopes of a top 4 finish. The games started with both sides trying to gain control of the game and Magic took the initiative going in 4-3 ahead after the first quarter. Poole continued pressure Magic NC in Q2, but still found themselves a point behind at half time. In Q3 Magic started to pull away after some great team passing through the court which their goal shooter was more than happy to finish off with some great shots. One of the biggest problems for Poole in this game was their shooting accuracy and this kept the pressure off Magic who saw the game out and kept alive their top 4 aspirations.

U13 Review

Matrix NC 26 Vs Starz NC 12

Matrix NC needed a big win to get their goal difference up to keep alive their top 4 hopes, but were faced by a stubborn Starz NC side who are improving week after week. The game in the opening quarter was evenly matched, but Matrix in each quarter after improved and recorded a comfortable win in the end. Starz NC still have two games to stay in the league and will not go down without a fight.

Eagles NC 22 Vs CD Phoenix NC 23

This tie had everything you would want from a top 4 clash. Eagles NC started better of the two teams and took a 10-7 lead going into the second quarter. Unlike their amazing start to their game with Poole NC a week earlier, CD Phoenix rallied in Q2 and they overturned their three point disadvantage around and went into half time 14-12 ahead. The 3rd quarter continued to played at an incredible pace and both sides were making errors in the hot Sir Henry Floyd venue. As the 4th quarter got underway Eagles mounted an incredible comeback which made the atmosphere inside the sports centre electric with excitement. Both sides now were going toe to toe and with the game a draw it was anyone's guess who would take the win. Eventually CD Phoenix NC got the decisive goal at the expense of their coaches health who were watching the game with their hearts in their mouths and this meant they all but qualified for the Grand Finals in July.

Poole NC 55 Vs Herts Hornets NC 15

A comfortable win for Poole NC who like to blast away their opponents in the opening quarter of the games they play. If there is a team you don't want to start slow against it's definitely Poole NC and Herts Hornets did exactly that and never really recovered. Their best quarter came in the 3rd, but at this point Poole NC were in cruise control and already looking towards the next round of games.

TTNC 13 Vs Turnford NC 44

A game that played another season would of been much closer due to TTNC missing several players due to other commitments. TTNC started well in this game but by the second half of the first quarter lost their way to a determined and skilful Turnford side. In the end a relatively comfortable win for Turnford who are just counting down the days to their clash with Poole NC.
