WEEK 9

AP Saints NC & Poole NC won the ENG YNPL U12 & U13 YNPL Southern Conference after they both overcame their opponents in the final games of the season to win this league for the first time in their and the leagues history.

Ryland NC U12, CD Phoenix U13 & Eagles NC U13 claimed their place in the ENG YNPL Grand Finals after winning their final games of the season. There was disappointment though for Weston Park Blades U12 & Starz NC who were relegated from their leagues after losses.

U12 Review

AP Saints NC 27 Vs TTNC 18

AP Saints NC had to win this game and they blew TTNC away in the opening two quarters to win the ENG YNPL Southern Conference title. TTNC just didn't get going in this must win tie with mistakes frequent through-out the game which didn't allow them to push AP Saints NC. They did win the final two quarters but it was too little too late.

Eagles NC 31 Vs Abbey Flyers Nomads 11

Eagles NC had to settle for 3rd place in the league after this win over Abbey Flyers Nomads. Abbey Flyers did show how far they have come in this league after they gave the talented Eagles NC side a good game and their reward was a place in the league next season after Weston Park Blades lost later on in the day.

Weston Park Blades 14 Vs Matrix NC 24

Weston Park Blades were relegated from the league after a loss to Matrix in what was a must win game. A poor start meant Matrix ran away with the game from the start and never looked like losing. WPB did improve in the 3rd quarter, but unfortunately they lost and were relegated from the league.

Magic NC 9 Vs Ryland NC 29

Ryland NC secured their place in the ENG YNPL Grand Finals after a comfortable win over Magic NC. Each quarter Ryland improved and stopped the Magic side from implementing their strategy on the game who maybe weren't as competitive due to the inability to secure a top 4 place.

CD Phoenix NC 39 Vs Ryland NC 8

CD Phoenix NC secured their place in the ENG YNPL Grand Finals after a win over Ryland NC who were already relegated from the league going into this game. CD Phoenix will now have to prepare for the runners up in the Northern League.

TTNC 35 Vs Starz NC 15

TTNC ended the season with a win in what was a inconsistent season for the South West side. The game started competitively with Starz NC fighting for their survival in the league and it was 15-11 at half time. After half time TTNC took control and won the game and secured their place in next seasons league.

Sutton Town NC 27 Vs Herts Hornets 20

Sutton Town NC managed to finish a healthy 5th place after a solid performance gave them the win over Herts Hornets. Notorious slow starters Herts Hornets paid the price once again for their inability to get into the game quick enough which allowed Sutton Town to get a good solid lead which they maintained until Herts Hornets fought back strongly in the 4th quarter to make the score more competitive.

Eagles NC 26 Vs Matrix NC 12

A game that offered so much but didn't really live up to expectation after Eagles NC took control and grew stronger in each quarter. Matrix NC in all fairness to them knew this game could of meant so much more and even though there was a mathematical chance they could qualify for the ENG Grand Finals it was nearly impossible to do so which affected their performance levels through-out the game. Eagles NC now face Ellesmere Port Youth in what will be a mouth watering quarter finals tie in the ENG YNPL Grand Finals.

Poole NC 30 Vs Turnford NC 24

A tie between two heavyweights of the youth netballing world collided in what was a game that was hotly anticipated for months. Poole NC started the brighter and overturned Turnford's first centre pass of the tie which set the tone through-out the opening quarter that was dominated by Poole NC. Turnford managed to settle in the second quarter, but just wasn't getting any favours from the Poole shooters who consistently scored. With the score at half time being 20-13, Turnford needed a big quarter to put some pressure on Poole and they did chip away at their lead which meant they were five points down going into the home straight. A frantic final quarter was won by Poole and they finished off their 2020/21 season with a sublime shot on the whistle to secure their win and the league title.
