U12 Review

Chester NC B 28 Vs Grangetown NC U12 16

Chester piled the pressure on the top 4 with a convincing win over Grangetown who also had a chance of pushing for the top 4 themselves. Chester started the brighter of both sides and kept improving through-out the game to take a well deserved victory.

Chester NC A 17 Vs Wyre NC 28

Wyre NC spoiled the party in this game by denying Chester the chance to win the league after Saddleworth had won earlier in the day. Chester were under pressure before a ball was thrown after some of their players were missing through isolation and Wyre took full advantage of this and dominated every quarter to not only qualify for the Grand Finals, but potentially finish in runners up spot.

Saddleworth NC 27 Vs Macclesfield NC 26

A game Saddleworth could not lose and they just took the win by the skin of their teeth against a very resilient Macclesfield team. Macclesfield started the better out of the two sides and they went ahead early on after some great build up play. Saddleworth looked nervous, but with a couple of minutes to go rallied and managed to tie the opening quarter 7-7. Saddleworth were more settled in the second quarter and looked like they would now push on and win the game convincingly, but were pegged back in the 3rd & 4th quarters which created a tense ending. Saddleworth held on for the win and piled pressure on the Chester A side playing later on in the day against Wyre NC.

Ellesmere Port 40 Vs M&A NC 8

A convincing win for Ellesmere Port Youth who were long overdue a win after playing some fantastic netball over the last few weeks with little reward. M&A NC will be hoping to use the season as a platform to do well in next season's league due to the whole team being all U11.

Grangetown NC 61 Vs Chester NC B 6

Grangetown NC wanted to push for the top 4 and took no mercy on Chester NC B in this tie. They attacked and defended in a ruthless fashion and took a step closer to the ENG YNPL Grand Finals.

Wyre NC 31 Vs Kingston NC 21

A good game between two teams who had difference reasons to make sure they won the tie. Both sides started well in a competitive opening quarter, but Wyre NC in the second quarter turned over the ball more ruthlessly and started pulling away. In the 3rd quarter both sides slowed down the tempo, but Wyre rallied again in the final quarter to take the win and claim a place in the ENG YNPL Grand Finals.

Chester NC A 23 Vs Ellesmere Port Youth 31

A game between two local rivals with both sides hoping to win this league for the first time. Ellesmere Port as usual started bright and gave Chester a mountain to climb after winning the first quarter 10-4. The second quarter Chester finally got a grip on the game and started to be more consistent, but still struggled to bring the score back to make it competitive enough for them to get back into the tie. The 3rd quarter saw Ellesmere Port put the game to bed and end any hope of a Chester comeback and once the whistle was blown they celebrated becoming the first ever champions of this youth netball league.

Macclesfield NC 62 Vs Grangetown NC 2

Macclesfield NC needed to win big in this game and that is exactly what they did. Grangetown who were ravaged with injuries and players missing through isolation were left shell shocked by the pure intensity of Macclesfield who not only qualified for the Grand Finals but secured a 3rd place finish in the league.

Chester NC B 25 Vs Wyre NC 32

Chester knew after the Macclesfield NC win earlier they not only needed to win, but win by more than twenty nine goals to secure a place in the ENG Grand Finals. It was always going to be a tough task for the Chester side and they were helped by the fact Wyre had several players isolating. The game was tighly contested through-out with Chester pulling away in the final quarter to take the in, but unfortunately miss out on a place in the Grand Finals.

A great end to the league for Grangetown NC who secured their place in the Grand Finals with another fantastic win.
