Oldham Owls bounced back from their Netball Cup disappointment to win the YNPL Grand Finals. They had to show tremendous character in all their games to wear down their opponents and win the club's fifth YNPL title.
Quarter-Finals
Oldham Owls started the event with a game against Little Sutton. It didn't start too well for Oldham, as Little Sutton settled quicker and ran up a healthy lead. Oldham woke up at the back end of the quarter and brought the score back to a couple of points. Oldham led by three points at the halfway point of the second quarter, but Little Sutton was still in the game. Little Sutton needed to react in the third quarter and keep up the pressure on Oldham, but couldn't breach their solid defense and, in the end, had to settle for a 5th-8th place.
Shan and Wyre served up an entertaining contest. Shan started the game well and went in after the first quarter 7-3. Shan's dominance continued in the second quarter, and it looked like this would be a routine win for the South London side. As the third quarter started, Wyre started to shift through the gears and found themselves at one point two points behind, and the great escape was on. In the fourth quarter, Wyre kept pushing forward, and the game was finely balanced. The umpire's decision to sin bin one of the Wyre players with two minutes to go ended their hopes of a fantastic comeback, and Shan was relieved to hear the final whistle and set up a semi-final tie against Sutton Town.
Magic and Sutton Town had dominant wins over their opponents and cruised into the semi-finals.

Semi-Finals
Oldham Owls took on Magic to claim their place in the final. Magic started the game well and went toe-to-toe with Oldham, which was impressive and showed how far Magic has come as a team. As the game hit halftime, Magic still maintained a competitive scoreline. As the game moved into the second half, Oldham's class shone through as their shooters and defence started to dominate the game. Ultimately, it was a comprehensive victory for Oldham, but Magic came out of the game with much credit for their first-half performance.
Shan and Sutton Town was an incredible game. Earlier in the season, Sutton Town had beaten Shan easily and were hotly tipped to face Oldham in the final. The game was tense, and Shan did well to stop Sutton Town's star shooter, Libby, from dominating the circle. Shan's defensive positions were causing Sutton Town trouble, and Shan NC maintained a narrow lead throughout the game. Sutton Town did everything they could to turn the game around, but the incredible Shan defense stayed strong, and Shan was in the final.

Final
Oldham didn't expect to play Shan in the final, and the opening couple of quarters were competitive as Shan broke down numerous Oldham attacks. Both team defenses were in top form, and in the end, the game was decided by which shooters were more consistent under the post. Oldham seemed more composed in the high-intense moments, which made the difference in an evenly matched game for significant periods.
